Palo Duro Canyon Bike Trails

Palo Duro Canyon is home to some of the best mountain biking trails in Texas. Our favorites include, Capital Peak Mountain Bike Trail, Givens, Spicer, Lowry Trail (GSL), and Upper & Lower Comanche Trails.

For more experienced riders, we recommend pairing trials together. For example, we love to ride the 24hrs in the Canyon race loop. Starting at the Soapberry Day Use Area, and ride the Paseo del Rio Trail to the Lighthouse Trail parking lot. Then jump onto the Juniper Cliffside Trail until you reach the Capitol Peak Trial and follow the outer trail until you meet the Lighthouse Trail. Make a left and follow the Lighthouse Trail until you reach the turnoff for the GSL trial. Ride all the way back to the GSL trailhead and drop back in on the Paseo del Rio Trail back to your car. This loop is just under 8 miles and offers spectacular views and challenging terrain.
